SM City Bicutan started the series of exhibits by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in SM Supermalls on 18-23 March 2022.
The collaboration between the Department and SM Supermalls brings the latest local innovations, technologies, and services closer to the Filipino people.

Started in 2018, both powerhouses in their respective fields joined together in commemorating 60 years of undying service to the Filipino people.
Four years later, DOST and SM continue to celebrate the legacy in promoting a culture of innovations while proving that partnerships among government and the private sector are effective and sustainable.
The collaboration embraces the position of the DOST as the premiere authority in the Philippines that provides central direction and leadership of all scientific and technological activities.
On the other hand, SM remains to be one of the country’s largest conglomerates and most dominant player in retail.
“For six decades, the hopes of changing the way Filipinos live for the better have never been ignited as the nation has been experiencing the best from the DOST’s and SM’s attempt for nothing short of excellence Filipinos truly deserve,” said DOST-TAPI Director Marion Ivy D. Decena.
Organized by the Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI), both physical and virtual exhibits were created.
The physical exhibit in SM City Bicutan is open to the public and the virtual platform of the same allows people from all ages to enjoy science at the comforts of their own homes.
The technologies featured in the exhibit are breakthroughs in forest products, emerging technologies, textiles, and industrial technologies, such as the antimicrobial bamboo hand soap and hand mist, smart surface, charging in minutes, multi-shell neutron spectrometer, new hyaluronic acid-based hydrogels, and salt iodization machine, among others.

DOST programs and services also take the spotlight in the exhibit through the Science Explorer Bus and nuLab: STEM in Motion of the Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) and the Young Innovators’ Program of the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technologies Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD).
The next series of hybrid exhibits will be seen in SM City Masinag on 02-06 April 2022, SM City Rosales and SM City Pampanga on 23-27 April 2022, SM City Dasmariñas and SM City San Pablo on 30 April - 04 May 2022, and SM City Lipa on 03-17 May 2022.
