Taguig City – In a celebration of commitment to transparency and the fundamental right to access to information, the Department of Science and Technology – Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI) was recognized as a dedicated partner institution at the 2023 Freedom of Information (FOI) Awards. The prestigious event, held on 21 November 2023 at the Hilton Manila, aimed to acknowledge and honor government and private institutions, and civic society organizations that have played a pivotal role in championing transformative and inclusive access to information for Filipino citizens.
The accolade comes as a testament to DOST-TAPI's unwavering dedication to fostering an environment where information is not only accessible but is also a powerful tool for empowerment and in the performance of its duties as a national government agency mandated to promote an effective and efficient innovation system towards the adoption and utilization of inventions, innovations, and services. The institution's efforts have significantly contributed to breaking down barriers that hindered the public's access to vital information, ensuring a more transparent and informed society. FOI Receiving Officer, Rizalniño L. Noble, was again recognized as one of the Best FOI Receiving Officers in the country.
The 2023 FOI Awards, organized by FOI-Project Management Office under the Presidential Communications Office, highlighted DOST-TAPI for its outstanding initiatives and practices in promoting inclusivity, making information accessible to diverse segments of the Filipino population.
