The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) sends its delegates to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 for a scientific and business-matching mission of collaborating, showcasing, and benchmarking with more than 118,000 globally-recognized science movers at the Las Vegas Convention Center, USA on January 9-12, 2024.

The Department of Science and Technology, alongside the agencies and representatives of the Department of Trade Industry (DTI), the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), and the Semiconductor & Electronics Industries in the Philippines Inc. (SEIPI), signed up for the CES 2024 showcase as the “Philippine Pavilion” themed as “Make it happen in the Philippines” at the Las Vegas Convention Center, USA on January 9-12, 2024.

As the premier global platform for the advancements of technology, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 is considered as the breeding ground for technological breakthroughs where the world’s biggest brands in the industry collaborate and do business. With over 151 participating countries, the event estimates over 118,000 attendees on its four day-long expo.

CES highlights its conference program as well as the showcase of technologies on sustainability, digital health, metaverse, electric vehicles, transportation, and mobility from over 4,000 exhibitors. The registered attendees who have significant buying influence in their organization is measured to be at 63% of the total attendee population.

The CES 2024 Philippine Exhibit will feature a meaningful distinction and differentiation in the minds of the international stakeholders for economic opportunities and political cooperation, as well as highlight the Philippines’ technological innovations/cultural assets to secure foreign investments for the maximization of the country’s existing capacities.

Being the largest international Consumer Electronics Exhibition, DOST alongside the four other agencies aim to gain a deeper understanding of the international standards, practices, capabilities, and technologies from the showcase event, as well as the conference.

By participating in the CES 2024, DOST is committed to showcasing its support for DOST-funded technologies and startups as well as demonstrate its expertise in electronics and related fields, including consumer technology, smart cities, smart homes, AI, quantum computing, and more. The Department will also fulfill its promise to enhance awareness among the Filipino audience, promote and cultivate local and international connections and partnerships, and attract investments and talent to the Philippines.

DOST showcases three state-of-the-art facilities at the pavilion: ADMATEL, a national testing facility specializing in advanced failure analysis and materials characterization; AMCEN, DOST's cutting-edge advanced manufacturing facility and prototyping laboratory; and EPDC, the country's premier electronics design facility, providing prototype design, PCB fabrication, and electronic product testing for EMC and safety compliance.

The department’s participation in the pavilion highlights this year’s CES theme of “Human Security for all”. This is the first year that the CES 2024 highlights not only the latest technologies and innovations, but also focuses on the importance of collaboration and innovation across all industries, and all countries, to improve the human experience.

Before the CES 2024 event took place, the Philippine delegation already concluded a business mission at Cedars Sinai Accelerator in Los Angeles for possible collaboration. Moreover, the Philippine delegation will also embark on another business mission in San Francisco.
